Vision: Where does this ship sale

When we set off on the road, we usually know what places we want to visit, where to go, and what impressions we want to take back home with us. Then why we sometimes enter in a transformation process without being certain where we want to arrive to and how the destination should look like?

The answer often lies with the fact that the circumstances are speeding us to enter in the transformation process while skipping the key step – vision definition. There is no success without clear and well defined vision.
The vision being always in front of our eyes gives us energy, precision and makes us capable to formulate in the easier and better way all our goals along the road to set destination, to stream all our efforts in the same direction.

Transformation has its ups and downs. Well defined vision helps us to stay consistent and not to lose focus and faith in change.

A high quality vision is only the one shared with others, the one in whose creation the others were included.

Even if not directly included in the creation of the vision, the employees of the companies should be informed about the company vision, as in the complex process of business transformation it is easier for everybody if they know “where the ship is sailing”. The question whether the vision is something to be shared with the employees has been overcome quite some time ago.
The only question which stays relevant is how to share the vision with the others, through which channels, and how much company leadership can truly contribute to sharing it.

The mutual vision, mutual goals, mutual destination (as no one has ever directed the vision to people around him/her or realized it by himself/herself) – let it be food for thought to all of us when facing a big change.
