Being leaders, are we ready for a change?

No matter how long we have been in business, which position we were holding, whatever we are doing, and especially if our role is to run business and teams, it is necessary to change ourselves in a certain way and to adjust to what is ahead of us.

The extremes are often dangerous zones, so we should stay away from them. It is not realistic to expect that we would change so much to go to other extreme from what we are and what our nature is. A leader is an authentic person who positively impacts on his/her surroundings and who nurtures his/her character. On the other side, a leader is a person ready to take feedback and to understand when his/her character cease to be an ally on the leadership journey. A leader should prepare himself/herself for this and to develop alternative behavioral styles which are necessary for him/her to precede further.

• What are the biggest pitfalls in leaders’ development path?
• Is it the fact that leader is expected to be a superman or superwoman (who can be that other than in a film)?
• Is it the fact that it is not easy to receive a feedback, to learn that some things need to be changed in his/her behavior?
• Is it the fact that even when we receive a feedback, we still need to motivate ourselves for change, as without internal personal motivation nothing substantial is going to happen?
• Is it the fact that if we motivate ourselves for change, there is a hard work behind it, as the change on a personal level is the hardest to be made?
• Are we really ready for something like that?
